NEW TESTAMENT

Manual Section 8

Of the 27 books in the New Testament 14 were written by Paul.
It would seem like he overshadows the other.  But Peter, James and John were the First Presidency and we need to always remember that.
The 'letter' was one of the fastest ways to communicate to the people of the church, with any problems or local needs.
14 letters we have in the New Testament.  Other letters included were written by Peter, James, John and maybe the successor of Pete and Jude.
Hebrews has no date when it was written.
The Jewish leaders were so mad when the apostles taught.  They just couldn't let it go.

BOOK OF MORMON

Alma 58

Helaman just waited.  Wanted more support from Zarahemla.  They almost starved cause they had no food.  2000 soldiers were sent and some food.  They prayed to Good that they'd be ok.  They go to Manti against the Lamanites.
Gid and Teomner cut the spied off.  Then they ran to the city and overthrew it cause the rest of the Lamanites army were running after Helaman.
They did take Manti without the shedding of blood.
They've taken back all the cities of their corner.  But they're spread thin and waiting for support.  This is the end of Helaman's letter to Moroni at the end of the 29th year.

ENSIGN

July 2011  'Faith to Answer the Call'

This article is about the faith of the Pioneers as well as a sermon to us in these days and how we should have faith.

Elder Holland said
'My appeal is that you nurture your own physical and spiritual strength so that you have a deep reserviour of faith to call upon when tasks or challenges or demands of one kind or another come.'

It's a great article and I think all should read it.
Great faith quotes.
