NEW TESTAMENT

Acts 18:-22

Paul teaches the Jews in Corinth.  Didn't go well and he decided to only teach the gentiles from then on and said that the Jews blood would be on their own heads.
Then Paul went somewhere else and the Lord promised safety.  So he proselyted there for 18 months.
He then got taken to the government by the Jews but was set free.

1Thessalonians 1-5

The Thessalonians sound like great people who are full of faith.
Paul loves them.
4:14-18 is all about the resurrection. It's really nice.
5:8 We need to wear the breastplate of faith and love and the helmet of hope and salvation
This was written from Athens.

2 Thessalonians 1-3

2:1-3 Is all about the Apostasy.
We need to pray for the prophets.

BOOK OF MORMON

Alma 56

Helaman wrote to Moroni in a letter, telling him what was going on in his neck of the woods.  He wrote to him in the 30th year of the reign of the judges but his story starts in the 26th year.
The Lamanites killed all prisoners except the captains.
27th year they prepared for defense with Antipus in Judea with the 2000 stripling warriors.
They started thinking about strategies to defeat the Lamanites.
vs 46-49 is pure awesomeness about these strong young men.  They have such unwavering faith and I love it.  I am always touched by this story.  What great young men and what wonderful mothers.
Oh to have such faith.
